Using proxies in Morpho Browser

Supported proxy types, the formats you can paste, IP-change links and proxy testing.

Supported proxies

HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5, with or without a username and password. IPv6 works too: write the address in square brackets, for example [2001:db8::1]:1080.

Formats you can paste

Paste one proxy per line. Morpho recognises these formats:

host:port
host:port:user:pass
user:pass:host:port
user:pass@host:port
socks5://user:pass@host:port
[2001:db8::1]:1080

IP-change links for mobile proxies

If your provider gives you a link that changes the IP, put it after the proxy in square brackets, or on the next line. Morpho stores the link with the proxy; from version 1.0.2 the “Change IP” button calls it and tests the proxy again.

host:port:user:pass[https://provider.example/change-ip?key=...]

host:port:user:pass
https://provider.example/change-ip?key=...

Time zone, language and location

With the Auto settings, a profile takes its time zone, language and geolocation from the proxy's exit IP, so they match the country websites see.

Testing a proxy

From version 1.0.2 the Proxies page tests each proxy and shows its exit IP, country and latency. When a test fails, it tells you why: wrong username or password, timeout, connection refused or a DNS error.

Tips

  • Use one proxy per profile. Profiles that share a proxy share an IP address, which links them.
  • Choose a proxy in the country of the account you manage.
  • For SOCKS and authenticated proxies, Morpho resolves DNS through the proxy.
